The Kano State House of Assembly KNHA has called on the state government to upgrade the Rabi’u Musa College of Remedial Studies, Tudun Wada RMK CARS to a College of Education, Technical and Advanced Studies.
The resolution followed a joint motion by Alhaji Sule Lawan Shuwaki (Tudun Wada constituency) and Alhaji Salisu Ibrahim (Doguwa constituency) during plenary presided over by the Speaker, Alhaji Jibril Isma’il Falgore.
The lawmakers argued that elevating the college will:
Reduce unemployment, as students trained in technical and vocational skills will become self-reliant.
Leverage existing infrastructure, since the remedial college already occupies a large land mass suitable for expansion.
Boost academic excellence, given the strong track record of graduates from the remedial college.
They further recalled that in 2011, a similar joint motion paved the way for the establishment of the remedial studies college, stressing that history should now record another milestone through its elevation.
After deliberations, the House unanimously adopted the motion, urging the state government to take legislative and administrative steps toward the upgrade.
