The President of the Youth Sports Federation of Nigeria (YSFON), Dr. Nasiru Yusuf Gawuna, has announced the commencement of preparations for the 2nd Edition of the President Bola Ahmed Tinubu National Peace Cup a national U-18 boys’ football tournament scheduled to hold in Katsina State from October 24 to November 1, 2025.
In a statement issued by the YSFON National Headquarters and signed by the National Secretary, Mr. Patrick Okpavuerhe, entries have officially opened for all state YSFON teams across the federation.
Each participating team is expected to comprise 20 players strictly under 18 years of age and three officials, including at least one YSFON representative.
According to the circular, teams are to arrive in Katsina on Thursday, October 23, 2025, while player screening will commence at 7:00 a.m. on Friday, October 24, 2025, at the Muhammadu Dikko Stadium, Katsina.
Accommodation will be provided in designated school hostels for all participating contingents. However, state teams have been advised to make adequate arrangements for feeding and transportation.
YSFON also directed all state chapters to submit their team entries to the National Headquarters on or before Friday, October 17, 2025, and to confirm participation prior to departure.
The President Tinubu National Peace Cup, themed around “Peace and Unity Through Sports”, seeks to promote national integration, youth development, and grassroots football as tools for fostering peace and understanding across Nigeria.
