The Minister of State for Housing and Urban Development, Yusuf Abdullahi Ata, has praised the contributions of former Housing Minister Ahmed Musa Dangiwa, describing his tenure as impactful and reform-driven.
In a press statement issued in Abuja, Ata acknowledged Dangiwa’s role in advancing housing policies following his resignation on April 21, 2026. He said the former minister’s leadership helped expand access to affordable housing and strengthened key frameworks within the sector.
According to Ata, Dangiwa’s tenure aligned with the housing objectives of the administration of Bola Ahmed Tinubu, particularly under the Renewed Hope Agenda. He noted that the former minister introduced policies targeting low- and middle-income earners across the six geopolitical zones.
The minister highlighted reforms in housing finance, land administration, and urban renewal, adding that the initiatives improved service delivery and ensured measurable outcomes. He said states reported faster processing of Certificates of Occupancy and growing investor confidence in housing projects.
Ata also pointed to Dangiwa’s professional background as an architect and former Managing Director of the Federal Mortgage Bank of Nigeria, noting that his expertise helped align housing design standards with affordability goals.
He further stated that collaboration between the ministry, state governments, and private developers was strengthened during Dangiwa’s tenure, leading to increased housing delivery through public-private partnerships.
“Arc. Ahmed Musa Dangiwa brought experience and expertise to the task of delivering nationwide housing reforms,” Ata said, adding that his focus on measurable results helped instill a culture of accountability within the ministry.
The minister emphasized that Dangiwa’s leadership style and commitment to performance left a lasting institutional impact, with reforms in land use coordination and urban development processes.
Ata reaffirmed the ministry’s commitment to sustaining and building on the reforms introduced during Dangiwa’s tenure, while continuing efforts to expand housing access nationwide.
He also wished the former minister success in his future endeavors, expressing confidence that his experience would remain valuable to national development.
