The Chairman of Gwarzo Local Government Area, Dr. Mani Tsoho Gwarzo, has presented Permanent and Pensionable (P&P/BESDA) appointment letters to 192 newly recruited primary school teachers deployed to public primary schools across the local government.
Speaking during the presentation ceremony, Dr. Mani Tsoho congratulated the teachers on their appointments, describing the teaching profession as a sacred responsibility entrusted with shaping society and nurturing future leaders.
He urged the new teachers to carry out their responsibilities with honesty, integrity, diligence, commitment and the fear of God.
The chairman reaffirmed the Kano State Government’s commitment to prioritising education under the leadership of Governor Engr. Abba Kabir Yusuf through the recruitment of qualified teachers, improved teaching and learning environments, and policies aimed at strengthening basic education across the state.
He also cautioned the teachers against negligence, absenteeism and any conduct capable of tarnishing the image of the teaching profession, urging them to serve as worthy ambassadors while supporting the government’s education reforms.
In his remarks, the Education Secretary of the Gwarzo Local Government Education Authority, Alhaji Ashiru Lawan Kutama, said the recruitment would significantly address the shortage of teachers in public primary schools across the area.
He urged the beneficiaries to justify the confidence reposed in them through dedication, honesty and selfless service to the academic and moral development of pupils. He also advised them against posting or sharing their appointment letters on social media.
Other speakers at the event, including Imam Hassan, who spoke on the Islamic concept of trustworthiness (Amanah), the representative of the Zonal Director of Education, Malam Haruna, the representative of the District Head of Gwarzo, Alhaji Bello Abubakar Gwarzo, and the Councillor for Education, Hon. Abubakar Dan Nafada, commended the Kano State Government and the Gwarzo Local Government Council for prioritising education.
They called on the newly recruited teachers to demonstrate diligence, integrity and accountability in the discharge of their duties.
Speaking on behalf of the beneficiaries, Mubarak Adamu Ibrahim and Halima Ibrahim expressed gratitude to Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf and Dr. Mani Tsoho Gwarzo for the opportunity to serve. They pledged to uphold professionalism, honesty and dedication while contributing to improved learning outcomes and the development of Gwarzo Local Government Area.
The ceremony was attended by head teachers, officials of the Local Government Education Authority, the Divisional Police Officer (DPO), representatives of the District Head of Gwarzo, elected and appointed councillors, community and religious leaders, and other stakeholders in the education sector.
