The Kano State Government has received widespread praise for its exceptional handling of the 2024 Hajj operations. Ulamas and pilgrims alike have commended Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf’s efforts.
Governor Yusuf’s commitment to the pilgrims’ comfort and well-being was evident in the smooth operations. The state government addressed major problems such as accommodation and food, ensuring a seamless experience.
The Governor’s support went beyond logistics. He provided additional financial support, including 500,000 to each pilgrim. Alh Ibrahim Mijinyawa also donated 150,000 Riyals.
Kano State’s excellence in Hajj operations earned international recognition. The state gained more international pilgrims and received awards from Hajj monitors for its exceptional service.
Deputy Governor Abdussalam Aminu Gwazo, who led the Amir Hajj delegation, praised the Governor’s efforts. He described the 2024 Hajj operations as a “day of reckoning” and a “report equal to 10”.
Challenges were identified, including helmet and toilet shortages. However, these were cited as national issues, and the state government has pledged to address them in future operations.
The success of the 2024 Hajj operations has set the stage for next year. The Kano State Government has begun preparations for the 2025 Hajj, ensuring continuity and improvement.
Governor Yusuf received an award at Eagle Square for education, while DG Laminu Rabiu Danbappa was recognized as the best coordinator by international Hajj reporters. The Kano State Government’scc commitment to Hajj operations has been acknowledged by all stakeholders.
