Isa Kaita College of Education, Dutsin-Ma, has organised a maiden National Conference on Technical Education and Artificial Intelligence (AI), aimed at promoting self-reliance and sustainable development.
The Information Officer and Director of Establishment, Mukhtar Balangogo, confirmed this in a statement issued to journalists in Katsina.

Themed “Role of Technical Education and Artificial Intelligence (AI) on Self-Reliance for Sustainable Development,” the conference brought together stakeholders to explore the intersection of education, technology, and innovation.
In his remarks, the Provost of the College, Dr. Ismaila Ado Funtua, described the event as a milestone, noting it was the first time a department of the institution was hosting a national conference.
“Artificial Intelligence has come to stay, and the quest for self-reliance is a global solution to unemployment,”he said while pledging the College’s commitment to sustaining such academic gatherings.

He encouraged other departments to take similar initiatives and called on government, private sector, and philanthropists to support research through grants and endowments.
Dr. Ado also commended Governor Dikko Umaru Radda for his continued investment in education, particularly in the areas of skill acquisition, infrastructure, and staff development.
In his goodwill message, the Commissioner for Higher, Vocational and Technical Education, represented by the Acting Permanent Secretary, Alh. Dikko Bala Kofar Sauri, praised the Provost for fostering a culture of research and academic excellence.
He reaffirmed the state government’s commitment to education, citing interventions such as the creation of skills acquisition centres and the award of full scholarships to 68 Katsina indigenes to study Artificial Intelligence and Biotechnology abroad.
Chairman of the occasion, Prof. Kabir Ibrahim Matazu, also lauded the College’s achievements in infrastructure and human capital development, stressing that research and publications remain the backbone of academic progress.
