The Federal Government of Nigeria has confirmed that ongoing security cooperation with the United States has contributed to recent precision air strikes against terrorist targets in parts of North-West Nigeria.
In a press statement issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Abuja, the government said Nigerian authorities are working closely with international partners, including the United States, to tackle the persistent threat of terrorism and violent extremism across the country.

According to the ministry, the collaboration involves intelligence sharing, strategic coordination and other forms of support in line with international law and bilateral agreements, while fully respecting Nigeria’s sovereignty.
The ministry explained that the cooperation has strengthened Nigeria’s counter-terrorism operations, leading to targeted air strikes aimed at dismantling terrorist networks and degrading their operational capacity.
It reiterated that the protection of civilian lives remains the top priority of the Federal Government, stressing that counter-terrorism efforts are conducted with respect for human rights and the dignity of all citizens, regardless of religion or ethnicity.

The government also emphasized that terrorist attacks against any group—whether Christians, Muslims or other communities—are unacceptable and pose a serious threat to national unity and international peace and security.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs assured that it would keep the public informed on developments through official channels as engagement with international partners continues.
