The Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR) has appointed the Voice of Nigeria (VON) as the official International and Diaspora Radio Broadcaster for the upcoming World Public Relations Forum (WPRF).
Chairman of the WPRF National Planning Committee, Suleiman Haruna, disclosed this during the official signing of a Memorandum of Agreement between both institutions at the VON headquarters in Abuja.
Speaking on behalf of the Institute, Dr. Haruna described the agreement as critical to the successful hosting of the global event scheduled to take place from November 15 to 21.
He described VON as a strategic and worthy partner, noting that the forum would boost Nigeria’s reputation capital and reinforce the country’s position as a global leader in the discourse on responsible communication.

According to him, the ongoing reforms within VON place the organization in a strong position to deliver extensive international broadcast coverage and produce programmes targeted at global audiences during the event.
Responding, the Director-General of VON, Jibrin Baba Ndace, who is also a Council Member of NIPR, said the World Public Relations Forum is not just an NIPR project but a national assignment for all Nigerians.
He assured the Institute of VON’s full support and commitment toward ensuring maximum global visibility for the event.
“The hosting of WPRF is a significant milestone for Nigeria and indeed the entire African continent. It is an opportunity for us to tell our story. Many people may have heard about Nigeria, but visiting the country will give them a deeper understanding of our people, professionalism, and capacity,” he stated.
Ndace added that VON’s mandate as Nigeria’s external broadcasting service aligns with the objective of projecting the nation’s values, achievements, and perspectives to the international community.
