The Kebbi State Police Command has taken its youth-focused campaign, tagged “My Future Is Greater Than Political and Digital Thuggery,” to communities and streets across the state as part of activities marking International Youth Week 2026.
The Command’s Public Relations Officer, SP Bashir Usman, disclosed this in a statement issued to newsmen in Birnin Kebbi, the state capital.
He said the campaign was designed to sensitise young people against political thuggery, manipulation and digital incitement, while promoting peace, responsible citizenship and positive youth engagement.
According to him, the initiative would be sustained across the state through lectures and sensitisation sessions organised by the Police Campaign Against Cultism and Other Vices (POCACOV), Kebbi State Command, in collaboration with community leaders and youth organisations.
As part of the concluding activities, the Command organised a novelty football match between the Police and a youth team in Birnin Kebbi, providing an opportunity to strengthen police-youth relations through sports and positive interaction.
The Commissioner of Police, CP Umar Hadejia, commended the youths for their enthusiasm and urged them to resist manipulation and make choices that would protect their future.
Hadejia reaffirmed the Command’s commitment to fostering a healthy relationship between the police and young people while harnessing their potential for peace and development in Kebbi State.
