The Kano State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has reaffirmed its commitment to the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, dismissing as false and misleading reports of a purported withdrawal of support.
In a statement issued by the party’s State Publicity Secretary, Auwalu Abdullahi, the APC described the claim—allegedly made by a group identified as the “Arewa APC Forum, Kano State Chapter”—as a calculated attempt to tarnish the party’s image and create disunity among its members.
The party stressed that no recognised or constitutionally backed organ within its structure had taken any decision to withdraw support for the president’s second-term ambition.
“The APC in Kano is aware of attempts by certain individuals and faceless groups to create confusion and disunity within the party,” the statement said.
“We wish to state categorically that this so-called forum is not known to the party structure and does not represent the views of APC members in Kano State.”
The Kano APC further expressed confidence in President Tinubu’s leadership, noting that his administration remains focused on delivering good governance, economic reforms, and national development.
Under the leadership of Umar Haruna Doguwa, the party urged members and the general public to disregard the alleged statement, describing it as the handiwork of mischief-makers seeking to create unnecessary tension.
It also maintained that the individual purported to have signed the statement is unknown within the party and not a stakeholder at any level in Kano State.
The party reiterated the unity of the Kano APC and its unwavering support for President Tinubu’s vision for a better Nigeria.
