The National Board for Technical Education (NBTE) has conducted an on-the-spot quality assurance assessment at Aminu Dabo College of Health Sciences and Technology (AD-COHST), Kano, to evaluate the implementation of its National Diploma (ND) and Higher National Diploma (HND) curricula.
The three-member assessment team, led by Dr. Murtala Aliyu Sakwa, visited the institution on Friday as part of the Board’s quality assurance framework. Other members of the delegation included Mr. Ayo Aroge, Director of PAP, and Malam Nura Baba from the NBTE Zonal Office.

The team was received by the Provost of the College, Dr. Ibrahim Musa Kurna, alongside members of the institution’s management led by the Registrar, Malam Lawaddeen Muqaddass.
Speaking during the visit, Dr. Sakwa said the exercise was aimed at assessing the institution’s level of compliance with the implementation of approved curricula for its accredited programmes in line with NBTE’s quality assurance standards.
He explained that the committee’s findings and recommendations would be submitted to the Executive Secretary of the NBTE, who constituted the assessment team, and appealed to the college management and staff for maximum cooperation throughout the exercise.
The team leader, who is also the Director of Inspectorate at the NBTE headquarters, assured the institution of a fair, transparent and objective assessment. He expressed confidence that the outcome of the exercise would further strengthen the college’s position as one of the pioneer private health institutions in Nigeria’s North-West offering NBTE-accredited programmes.
Responding, the Provost, Dr. Ibrahim Musa Kurna, welcomed the delegation on behalf of the Proprietor, Arc. Aminu Dabo, and expressed appreciation to the Board for the visit.
He reaffirmed the college’s commitment to complying with NBTE standards and maintaining excellence in the training of health professionals, assuring the team of the institution’s full cooperation.

As part of the assessment, the NBTE delegation held interactive sessions with key officials of the college before inspecting learning facilities and academic resources, including classrooms, the library, the Community Health Demonstration Room, the Environmental Health Museum, the ICT Centre, and relevant academic documents.
