The Kano State Health Trust Fund (KHETFUND) has conducted a post-funding verification visit to Wudil General Hospital as part of efforts to monitor the implementation of healthcare projects funded by the agency.
The verification exercise, was led by the Executive Secretary of KHETFUND, Dr. Fatima Usman Zahraddeen, represented by the Director of Administration and General Services, Abubakar Bala.
This was contained in a statement signed by Farouk Isa Musa on behalf of the Executive Secretary of KHETFUND.
During the visit, the team inspected healthcare interventions valued at ₦32.29 million, funded by KHETFUND following the disbursement of funds on January 13, 2026.
The projects verified included the installation of a solar power system, the procurement of hospital mattresses, and the supply of batteries for the hospital’s X-ray machines.
According to KHETFUND, the exercise forms part of its post-funding monitoring framework aimed at ensuring that approved projects are executed in line with specifications, public resources are judiciously utilized, and healthcare facilities deliver improved services to residents of Kano State.
Speaking during the visit, Alhaji Bala said regular monitoring and verification of funded projects remain critical to promoting transparency, accountability, and quality healthcare service delivery across the state.
He added that the initiative aligns with the healthcare policies of the Kano State Government under the leadership of Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf, which prioritise strengthening the health sector through effective resource management and improved service delivery.
Established to provide a sustainable and credible supplementary funding mechanism for the health sector, KHETFUND continues to bridge critical financing gaps and support strategic interventions aimed at improving access to quality healthcare for residents of Kano State.
