Kano State Governor, Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf, has charged the newly inaugurated All Progressives Congress (APC) Local Government, Ward and Polling Unit executives to work closely with the party’s 44 local government chairmen and leaders across the 484 wards to strengthen the party’s grassroots structure, intensify voter mobilisation and develop effective strategies to secure victory in the 2027 general elections.
The governor gave the charge while inaugurating the party executives, describing them as key stakeholders in consolidating the APC’s presence at the grassroots and ensuring effective coordination ahead of the next general elections.
Governor Yusuf said the executives should immediately return to their respective local government areas to consult widely with party leaders and members, develop workable mobilisation strategies and educate voters on the party’s programmes.
He also inaugurated what he described as the party’s “political security personnel,” saying they would be deployed to polling units to protect the party’s interests during elections and sensitise voters before and during the electoral process.
The governor commended party members for their resilience, commitment and sacrifices during the 2023 general elections, noting that their dedication contributed significantly to the party’s achievements.
Governor Yusuf assured the executives of the full support of his administration, members of the State Executive Council, local government chairmen and the APC leadership in Kano State.
He further lauded President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for implementing policies and programmes aimed at delivering the dividends of democracy through infrastructure development, economic reforms, improved healthcare and human capital development under the Renewed Hope Agenda.
As part of measures to motivate the newly inaugurated executives, the governor donated ₦100 million to support the party structure and allocated plots of land to the executives in recognition of their loyalty and commitment to the party.
He urged all APC members to remain united and committed to strengthening the party’s grassroots structures to ensure victory for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, National Assembly candidates, the Governor and State Assembly candidates in the 2027 general elections.
