The newly posted Maiduguri Zonal Commander of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Assistant Commander of the EFCC, ACE I Naibi Nuhu Aliyu, has urged staff to uphold integrity, professionalism and the rule of law in the discharge of their duties.
ACE I Aliyu made the call on Wednesday, September 23, 2026, when he assumed duty as the new head of the EFCC Maiduguri Zonal Command.

He urged officers to adhere strictly to the Commission’s core values of integrity, professionalism, collaboration and courage in the fight against economic and financial crimes.
The new Zonal Commander, who previously served as Director of Ethics and Integrity, took over from the Head of Investigation, ACE I Suleiman Na’Abba, during a brief handover ceremony attended by heads of departments and sections of the Directorate.
ACE I Aliyu stressed that integrity must remain fundamental to the work of every EFCC officer, irrespective of whether such conduct is being monitored.
He said officers must ensure that their actions conform with the ethics and regulations governing the Commission, while carrying out their responsibilities professionally and responsibly.

The Zonal Commander also urged staff to obey lawful orders from their superior officers and warned that indiscipline would not be tolerated under his leadership.
According to him, EFCC officers must distinguish themselves through their actions and attitudes towards the fight against economic and financial crimes and corruption.
He further called on staff to develop self-discipline, saying this would strengthen the Commission’s zero-tolerance approach to corruption.
ACE I Aliyu also urged officers to resist intimidation and remain courageous in the discharge of their official responsibilities.
He assured the staff that the success of the Commission’s mandate required collective commitment, professionalism and adherence to established procedures.

In his remarks, ACE I Suleiman Na’Abba congratulated the new Zonal Commander on his appointment and assured him of the support of heads of departments and unit heads in the discharge of his responsibilities.
He expressed confidence that the various departments and units would work with the new Zonal Commander towards advancing the mandate of the EFCC in the zone.
