The real development commences at the grassroots,Connection of Rural areas via roads, availability of functioning primary schools, availability of healthcare facilities, availability of water, provision of security, availability of markets, and availability of livelihoods within the locality are the facts that governance entails for the common people.
The key objective of His Excellency, Abba Kabir Yusuf, the Governor of Kano State in this regard is to get development to be transmitted not only in urban centres, but also experienced across local governments, wards as well as communities in the state.

Neglect, poor infrastructure and lack of proper access to government facilities have long been the challenge most local communities have had to deal with for decades.
The development vision of the Governor identifies the fact that a state cannot move forward leaving its local communities behind.
The well-being of the locals is thus not a by-product but the basis of sustainable development.
The emphasis of the administration to enhance the functionality of local government is important.
In a situation where the local councils are empowered, transparent and responsive, they can be a good means of delivering basic services and working directly with the needs of the community.
This will build greater accountability and make sure that the interventions in development are framed by the realities on the ground, rather than far-fetched assumptions.

Rural infrastructure improvement should also be targeted to improve the local communities.
Trade and movement are made easier through access roads, the health of people is enhanced by water projects, small businesses are helped by electrification, and markets are also upgraded to promote local economies.
With these areas as priorities, the Kano First agenda of the Governor aims at changing the local communities into productive and self-reliant economic activity hubs.
Informal enterprises and Agriculture are still the main sources of livelihood in Kano State.
The intention of the Governor in aiding the farmers, traders, artisans, and small-scale producers displays a clear insight into the fact that economic development should be inclusive.
The positive impacts of governance are realised when the locals are empowered with inputs, skills, access to credit and market linkages.
Community inclusion in decision-making is also very important.
Social trust and ownership of development projects are enhanced by the focus on listening to the traditional rulers, community leaders, youth groups, women’s associations and civil society by the Governor.
The success of policies is at its best when people can identify themselves as stakeholders and not spectators in the governance process.
It is therefore everyone’s responsibility to support the Governor in his grassroots development Kano First agenda.
Local coordination and solidarity spur the process, alleviate friction and make sure that the local resources are utilised within the community.
The message conveyed by political stability and community support is that the Kano First Agenda is prepared to receive well-coordinated development and long-term betterment.
Leadership is based on the enhancement of local communities. His Excellency Alh. Abba Kabir Yusuf shows his desire to ensure equity, dignity, and common prosperity through the appointment of locals in the centre of governance.
Contributing to this vision is contributing to the Kano First agenda where the development reaches every household, every village and every local government.
