“Peace is not a gift to be awaited, but a responsibility to be pursued with urgency and determination,” Alkamawa stated, urging Nigerians to embrace the year’s theme, “Act Now for a Peaceful World,” as a guiding principle.
He emphasized the need to promote dialogue over division, cooperation over confrontation, and compassion over hatred, noting that every act of kindness and reconciliation brings society closer to lasting peace.
In his keynote address, Deputy Commandant, DCC Atiku Marafa, described the theme as a timely reminder that peace is an urgent collective task.
“Everyone has a role to play leaders, teachers, parents, youths, and security operatives alike must commit to being ambassadors of peace,” he said.
