    WOFAN ICON-2 Rolls Out Support for Smallholder Farmers in Nig

    The Women Farmers Advancement Network (WOFAN) has kicked off the distribution of inputs for the 2025 dry and wet farming seasons to its implementing partners.

    WOFAN ICON-2 Plans to Empower 1 Million PWDs in Africa

    This initiative is part of the Year 3 WOFAN-ICON2 Project, which is supported by the Mastercard Foundation.

    The Initial distribution will benefit farmers in Adamawa, Benue, Nasarawa, and southern Kaduna States.

    Specifically, Farm Innovation in Adamawa State will receive 1,600 bags of NPK, 1,200 bags of Urea, and 400 bags of improved rice and maize seeds.

    WOFAN Distributes Multipurpose Cooperative Grants To PWDs

    Palm Valley Nigeria Limited, covering Benue, Nasarawa, and Kaduna, will receive 6,934 bags of NPK, 5,200 bags of Urea, and 1,733 bags of improved Rice and Maize Seeds.

    According to Dr. Salamatu Garba, WOFAN-ICON2 Country Director, this timely intervention will enhance productivity and improve livelihoods for smallholder farmers.

    WOFAN Trains 300 Students, Equips Center With Modern Tools

    The WOFAN-ICON2 Project aims to empower one million people with disabilities across seven African countries, aligning with the Mastercard Foundation’s Young Africa Works Strategy.

    This initiative has already shown promise, with the Farm Innovation WOFAN-ICON2 Project Manager, Mr. Dare Godwin, acknowledging the receipt of inputs.

    Godwin added that they had signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between WOFAN and Farm Innovation for the collection of these inputs.

    He also emphasized that Year Three of the WOFAN-ICON2 Project is promising and has already positively impacted the lives Of many people.

    The Finance Manager of Palm Valley Nigeria Limited, Habila Hassan also acknowledged the collection of the inputs and pledged to utilize them to achieve the desired objectives

    Paradigm News reports that WOFAN is a Nigerian non-profit organization dedicated to empowering smallholder farmers, particularly women and youth, through initiatives aimed at making them self-reliant.
