The road show, attended by security outfits, youth associations, labour unions, students, and other stakeholders, was aimed at spreading the anti-drug message to parents, guardians, and community leaders across Kazaure, Roni, Gwiwa, and Yankwashi Local Government Areas.

Participants embarked on a peaceful procession that included stops at the Emir’s Palace and other strategic locations in Kazaure township.

Addressing the gathering, Jigawa state NDLEA commander represented by the Kazaure Area Commander, Alhaji Gambo Shehu, reiterated the agency’s commitment to robust awareness campaigns that will help change the current drug abuse narrative, especially among the youth.

“The youth must stand up as ambassadors of peace and reject all forms of illicit drugs and immoral practices that may jeopardise their future,”

“You are the leaders of tomorrow; therefore, invest your time in acquiring knowledge and skills for your overall development,” he added.

He also emphasised the need for youth to report any suspicious drug-related activities to the NDLEA offices for prompt action.

The State Commander extended appreciation to, the Emir of Kazaure, Dr. Najib Hussaini Adamu, as well as the District Heads and the Kazaure Local Government Chairman for their support.

The youth of Kazaure were also commended for their cooperation with the Area Command’s drug-free campaign.

In their remarks, several youths expressed appreciation for the NDLEA’s efforts and praised the proactive leadership of Alhaji Gambo Shehu.

They acknowledged the constant vigilance of the Command and noted the role of Hafed Poly Radio Kazaure in keeping the public informed on the dangers of drug abuse.

The road show concluded at the Command office with a strong commitment from Alhaji Gambo Shehu to collaborate with all stakeholders to make Kazaure a model drug-free community.
