The Jigawa State Police Command has warned farmers and herders in Kirikasamma Local Government Area against further violence, lawlessness, or reprisal attacks following a recent clash in Gishinawo and Abangawa villages that left several people injured and properties destroyed.
State Commissioner of Police, CP Dahiru Muhammad, issued the warning during a peace meeting with key stakeholders from the affected communities.
The meeting, he said, was convened to foster understanding, prevent escalation, and ensure lasting harmony between the two groups.

CP Dahiru expressed concern over the incident, stressing that peace and security are a collective responsibility. He urged both farmers and herders to embrace dialogue and mutual respect, describing peaceful coexistence as essential for socio-economic development.
“We will not tolerate any act of violence, lawlessness, or reprisal attacks. Anyone found wanting will face the full weight of the law,” he cautioned.
The Commissioner assured residents that the Police Command has taken immediate steps to prevent a recurrence while ensuring justice and fairness for all parties involved.
