The Kano State Government KNSG has expressed deep sorrow over the passing of eminent Islamic scholar and revered spiritual leader, Sheikh Dahiru Usman Bauchi, who died in the early hours of Thursday after a prolonged illness.
Family sources confirmed that the respected cleric passed peacefully at an age believed to be over 100 years.

Sheikh Dahiru Bauchi was widely regarded as one of the most influential Islamic scholars of his generation.
His teachings, spiritual guidance, and unwavering commitment to the propagation of Islamic knowledge impacted millions across Nigeria and beyond.
Through decades of mentorship and religious leadership, he played a pivotal role in shaping moral discipline, deepening faith, and strengthening the Tijjaniyya community.
In a condolence message, the Kano State Government under Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf described the late Sheikh as “a rare gift to our nation, an embodiment of knowledge, piety, and patience.”
The governor noted that the scholar’s contributions to peacebuilding, religious enlightenment, and community development “will forever remain indelible.”

The government further described his death as “a monumental loss not only to his immediate family but to the entire Muslim world,” acknowledging his enduring legacy of compassion, scholarship, and service to humanity.
Governor Yusuf, on behalf of the government and people of Kano State, extended heartfelt condolences to the family of the deceased, the Tijjaniyya community, the people of Bauchi State, and the wider Muslim Ummah.
He prayed for Almighty Allah to grant the late Sheikh eternal rest in Aljannatul Firdaus and give his family, followers, and admirers the strength to bear the loss.
The Kano State Government also urged the public to reflect on Sheikh Dahiru Bauchi’s exemplary life and uphold the values of peace, humility, and devotion that he championed throughout his lifetime.
