The National Community Food Bank Programme has completed its nationwide rollout across Nigeria’s six geopolitical zones, with the South-East launch held in Anambra State.
The final phase of the rollout was formally led by the First Lady of Nigeria, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, CON, alongside the Governor of Anambra State, Professor Chukwuma Soludo, and other stakeholders.

The Bank of Agriculture, which serves as the Custodian and Trust Manager of the Food Bank Trust Fund, said it remains committed to supporting the systems underpinning the initiative and ensuring that food and nutrition assistance reaches vulnerable Nigerians.

According to the bank, the programme is designed to strengthen the connection between farmers who produce food and communities that need it, while supporting broader efforts to improve food security across the country.
The completion of the nationwide rollout marks an important milestone in the implementation of the National Community Food Bank Programme, but stakeholders stressed that the real measure of its success would be its impact on households.

The Bank of Agriculture said attention would now shift from the launch activities to ensuring that the support reaches people who need it and makes a meaningful difference in their daily lives.
The bank reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening the systems that support food security and improving access to food and nutrition assistance for vulnerable communities across Nigeria.
