The National Agricultural Seed Council (NASC), led by its Director-General, Hon. Fatuhu Muhammed, has participated in the 2nd India-Africa Seed Summit 2026, which focused on strengthening cooperation between India and African countries in the seed sector.
The summit provided a platform for stakeholders to explore opportunities for collaboration in seed research, technology transfer, investment, trade and capacity development.

Discussions at the summit highlighted the need for improved regulatory frameworks, digital transformation, infrastructure development and stronger public-private partnerships to strengthen seed systems across Africa.

Participants also emphasised the importance of improving farmers’ access to affordable, genuine and quality seeds as a key component of efforts to enhance agricultural productivity and food security.
