In an effort to avert the looming dangers of climate change, deforestation, and soil erosion, the Gwarzo local government has officially launched the 2024 tree planting campaign.
During his address at the flagging off event, which took place at the Eid prayer ground in Gwarzo, the interim Management Committee chairman, Dr. Mani Tsoho, stated that the initiative aims to enhance environmental sustainability, combat climate change, and improve local air quality.
“This tree planting campaign is more than just planting trees. It’s about creating a legacy of environmental sustainability.”

Dr Mani Tsoho added that ten thousand plants are expected to be planted as each household is directed to plant a single tree in his compound.
On his part the head of agric department Aminu Ali said the seedlings are readily available for collection free of charge.
He urge Gwarzo local government resident to approach his department .
Speaking at the occasion the district head of Gwarzo Alhaji Shehu Kabiru Bayero spoke on the spiritual and religious benefits of planting of trees.
He also directed all village heads and ward heads to monitor and sanction any person found partaking in indiscriminate cutting down of trees in their communities.
