The Kebbi State Pilgrims Welfare Agency has commenced the collection of a ₦5 million initial deposit from intending pilgrims seeking to perform the 2027 Hajj.
The Executive Chairman of the Agency, Alhaji Faruk Enagbo, announced this while officially closing the 2026 Hajj operations at the Agency’s headquarters in Birnin Kebbi.
Alhaji Enagbo said preparations for the 2027 pilgrimage had already begun due to the limited timeframe for Hajj planning. He urged prospective pilgrims to begin making their deposits immediately through the Agency’s designated bank account to secure their participation in the exercise.
He also cautioned intending pilgrims against dealing with unauthorized agents posing as officials of the Kebbi State Pilgrims Welfare Agency, warning that all payments and registration should be conducted only through approved channels.
The Executive Chairman commended the Kebbi State Government for its unwavering support, noting that the timely provision of resources and logistics contributed significantly to the successful conduct of the 2026 Hajj operations.
According to him, more than 4,200 pilgrims from Kebbi State successfully performed the 2026 Hajj without violating any regulations of the Saudi Arabian authorities or the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON).
He disclosed that only one pilgrim from the state remained in Makkah due to health-related challenges and is receiving the necessary attention.
The event also featured the presentation of awards to outstanding staff members, committees, and individuals in recognition of their exceptional contributions before, during, and after the 2026 Hajj exercise. This version follows a standard news structure with a strong lead, clear attribution, improved grammar, and a professional tone suitable for publication.
