In a major milestone for Nigeria’s indigenous defence manufacturing, Vanquish Industries Limited has officially commissioned its locally produced Vanquisher Light Combat Vehicles (LCVs).
Speaking at the event, the company’s Managing Director, Mr Zach Duwa described the occasion as “more than the unveiling of a platform, emphasizing that it reflects vision, discipline, and a firm belief that the African industry can produce world-class defence solutions.
He highlighted the Vanquisher LCV’s three core principles: Protection, ensuring high safety and survivability for operators; Mobility, providing agility and reliable performance across varied terrains; and Adaptability, featuring a modular design capable of fulfilling multiple mission roles.
Duwa expressed gratitude to key government and military figures, including President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the Honourable Minister of Defence (HMOD), the Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), and the Service Chiefs, for their strategic guidance and support.
He also thanked the Chief of Army Staff (COAS) for continuous patronage of locally manufactured products and the Defence Industries Corporation of Nigeria (DICON) for fostering collaboration.
“Today is about more than technology. It is about sovereignty, resilience, job creation, and confidence in our ability to innovate and manufacture at the highest level,” Duwa said.
“As these vehicles enter service, their purpose is clear: to support lawful operations, enhance security, and protect communities.”
Duwa reaffirmed Vanquish Industries’ commitment to research, innovation, and advanced manufacturing, stressing that the commissioning of the Vanquisher LCVs represents a step toward a stronger future for indigenous defence production.

The Chief of Army Staff, Lt Gen Waidi Shaibu, lauded Vanquish Industries for demonstrating ingenuity in producing climate-friendly combat vehicles that will enhance military operations across the country.
Shaibu, represented by Maj Gen Bamidele Alabi, Chief of Policy and Plans at Army Headquarters, also commended President Tinubu for policies encouraging local manufacturers.
