A respected businessman and community leader in Kano State, Alhaji Bature Abdulaziz, has passed away after a brief illness. He was 76 years old.
Born in 1950 in Adakawa Quarters, Dala Local Government Area of Kano State, the late Alhaji Abdulaziz rose to prominence as a key figure in Kano’s commercial sector.
He was widely recognised for his leadership roles in various traders’ associations and business groups within Kano and across Northern Nigeria.

He became particularly well known through his stewardship of the Kantin Kwari Market Traders Association, where he consistently championed the welfare and rights of traders. His efforts contributed greatly to the organisation and growth of commercial activities in Kano’s largest textile market.
Until his passing, Alhaji Abdulaziz remained actively involved in community development, business advocacy, and public affairs, earning him deep respect among traders, traditional leaders, and stakeholders across the region.
Confirming the death to journalists, one of his sons, Ismail Abdulaziz, said the family was grateful for the impactful life their father lived.
“My father, Alhaji Bature Abdulaziz, passed away after a brief illness. We are deeply saddened by his loss, but we remain thankful for the immense contributions he made to his community and to society at large,” he said.

The family announced that funeral prayers will hold on Sunday at 10:00 a.m. at his residence in ’Yankaba Quarters, Kano.
