The National Orientation Agency (NOA), Ejigbo Local Council Development Area (LCDA), has sensitised students of Hybrid College, Ejigbo, on the dangers of drug abuse, examination malpractice, and the importance of embracing national values.
The sensitisation programme, organised as part of the agency’s school outreach initiative, aimed to reorient students on the need to reject social vices that could undermine their academic performance, personal development, and future aspirations.
During the engagement, officials of the agency educated students on the harmful effects of drug abuse, the influence of peer pressure, and the consequences of examination malpractice. They also highlighted the long-term impact of such behaviours on individuals, educational institutions, and society at large.
The students were encouraged to uphold values such as hard work, honesty, discipline, and integrity, which were described as essential ingredients for personal success and national development.
The outreach programme also featured discussions on the National Value Charter, with participants being enlightened on its role in promoting responsible citizenship, patriotism, and positive behavioural change among young people.
Speaking during the programme, NOA officials advised students to shun all forms of examination misconduct and remain vigilant by reporting suspicious activities capable of compromising the integrity of the school environment.
They stressed that genuine success can only be achieved through diligence, commitment, and determination rather than through dishonest means or shortcuts.
The programme witnessed active participation from the Principal of the school, Mrs. Stella Utuyo, members of the management team, teachers, and students, who commended the initiative for its educational and moral value.
The National Orientation Agency reaffirmed its commitment to promoting positive values and raising awareness among young Nigerians on issues critical to national development.
