The Revenue Mobilisation Allocation and Fiscal Commission (RMAFC) has inaugurated a planning committee to coordinate preparations for a forthcoming oil and gas investment forum scheduled to hold in China later this year.
The committee was inaugurated at the Commission’s headquarters in Abuja, with the Chairman of RMAFC, Dr Mohammed Bello Shehu, OFR, represented by the Federal Commissioner representing Anambra State and Chairman of the Investment Monitoring Committee, Hon. Ekene Enefe.

Speaking at the inaugural meeting, Shehu said strategic planning, effective coordination and strong institutional collaboration would be critical to the success of the forum.
He said the event would provide a platform for showcasing Nigeria’s investment opportunities across the oil and gas value chain and attracting investments into the country.
The RMAFC Chairman charged the committee to develop a comprehensive framework for the forum, identify priority investment opportunities, coordinate stakeholder participation and facilitate engagements with prospective investors and partners in China.
According to him, the forum is expected to feature business-to-business engagements, investment matchmaking, technical presentations and policy dialogue aimed at promoting sustainable partnerships between Nigeria and China in the oil and gas sector.

Shehu said the initiative was also intended to strengthen cooperation and create opportunities for increased investment in Nigeria’s oil and gas industry.
He added that RMAFC would continue to collaborate with relevant institutions and stakeholders within its constitutional mandate to support initiatives aimed at strengthening investment, improving revenue generation and promoting sustainable economic development.
The inauguration of the planning committee marks the beginning of coordinated preparations for the China forum, which is expected to promote Nigeria’s oil and gas investment opportunities on the international stage.
The committee comprises representatives of the Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission (NUPRC), Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority (NMDPRA), Nigerian Investment Promotion Commission (NIPC), Federal Ministry of Industry, Trade and Investment, Oil and Gas Free Zone Authority and Nigeria-China Business Council.

Other members include the Director of RMAFC’s Gas and Investment Department and staff members of the department.
The Federal Commissioner representing Kogi State, Hon. Abdulaziz Idris King, and other members of the Investment Monitoring Committee also attended the meeting.
