The Speaker of the Kano State House of Assembly, Rt. Honourable Jibril Ismail Falgore, has mourned the death of two distinguished members of the House, Aminu Sa’adu Ungogo, Chairman of the Committee on Appropriation, and Sarki Aliyu Daneji, Chairman of the Committee on Hajj Pilgrims.
In a statement released on Thursday by the Speaker’s spokesperson, Kamaluddeen Sani Shawai, Falgore described the loss as devastating and irreplaceable, noting that their discipline, integrity, and unwavering commitment to their constituents will forever remain etched in the annals of the Kano State House of Assembly and beyond.
“Kano State has indeed lost two of its finest personalities. This is a loss for all of us, but the grief and sorrow are the deepest and most poignant,”
Falgore recalled that both lawmakers had earned a reputation for dedication, leadership, and strategic acumen in handling sensitive responsibilities from the beginning of their service. Their deaths, he emphasized, are monumental not only for Kano State but for Nigeria as a whole.
He highlighted their significant contributions to legislative development and the strong relationships they maintained with colleagues and constituents, stressing that their services will be profoundly missed by the Assembly, the state, and the nation.
“It is with deep sorrow and a profound sense of loss that I, on behalf of the Kano State House of Assembly, extend heartfelt condolences to their families, the Kano State Government, and the good people of Kano,” Falgore said.
At this time of grief, he prayed that Almighty Allah grant their families the strength and fortitude to bear this irreplaceable loss, adding: “May Allah forgive the shortcomings of our departed distinguished Honourable Members and grant them eternal rest in Jannatul Firdaus.”
