The Kano State Hisbah Board has held special prayers for the peace, prosperity and well-being of Kano State and the wider Muslim community during the Day of Arafah.
The prayers were led by the Acting Commander of the women’s wing, Hauwa Shitu, shortly after the completion of the annual recitation of the Holy Qur’an, an event traditionally observed by the board on the Day of Arafah, a significant day in the Islamic calendar observed during the Hajj pilgrimage.
Hauwa Shitu explained that she stood in for the head of the women’s department, Khadija Sagir Sulaiman, who is currently on pilgrimage in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. She prayed for the acceptance of the Hajj of all pilgrims, including her principal.
She noted that the spiritual significance of the Day of Arafah motivates the board to consistently organize Qur’anic recitations and collective prayers, seeking divine blessings, success and relief for the people.
Shitu urged Muslims in Kano State to remain steadfast in supplication, emphasizing that prayers made from dawn until sunset on the Day of Arafah are especially significant and accepted by God.
She encouraged residents to take advantage of the day to seek solutions to personal and communal challenges through continuous prayer and devotion.
Participants at the gathering, including Hisbah members Halima Sagir and Nafisa Sharif, expressed satisfaction with the spiritual session and offered prayers for its acceptance.
Paradigm News Correspondent Jamila Sulaiman Aliyu, reports that, the event was attended by senior officials of the Hisbah Board and lasted for about five hours, featuring Qur’anic recitations and collective supplications for peace and progress in the state.
