The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Abbas Tajuddeen, has donated N20 million and a brand-new ambulance to the newly reconstructed Central Juma’at Mosque at Federal University of Education FUE, Zaria.
The Speaker made the donation during the commissioning ceremony of the ultra-modern mosque rebuilt by prominent philanthropist and businessman, Auwalu Abdullahi AA Rano, at the university premises in Zaria.
Speaking at the event, Abbas said the donation was aimed at supporting the effective maintenance and smooth operation of the mosque complex.
He commended AA Rano for investing huge resources into the reconstruction of the mosque, describing the project as a significant contribution to Islam and educational development.
Earlier, the Vice Chancellor of the university, Prof. Yahaya Isa Bunkure, said the mosque project also includes a modern clinic, toilets, shops and a restaurant.
The Vice Chancellor expressed appreciation to AA Rano for executing what he described as a remarkable project in the service of Islam and humanity.
In his sermon, the Chief Imam who led the Juma’at prayer, Saminu Abubakar, urged leaders and public office holders to continue supporting Islam and assisting humanity whenever they have the opportunity.
Also speaking, Muhammad Bn Uthman emphasized the importance of maintaining cleanliness within the mosque environment.
He described AA Rano as a committed supporter of Islam across Nigeria and prayed for Allah to reward him abundantly for his contributions.
Meanwhile, the Emir of Zazzau, Ahmed Nuhu Bamalli, commended AA Rano for rebuilding the mosque and urged worshippers to ensure proper maintenance of the facility in view of the enormous resources committed to the project.
