The Jigawa State Primary Health Care Development Agency JSPHCDA, in collaboration with Jhpiego, has held its monthly Quality Improvement, Leadership and Management (QI&LM) meeting as part of ongoing efforts to strengthen healthcare service delivery through effective leadership, sound management and continuous quality improvement.
The one-day meeting, held at the Agency’s Conference Hall, New State Secretariat, Dutse, brought together directors, deputy directors and other senior officials from the Jigawa State Ministry of Health and JSPHCDA, alongside key stakeholders in the state’s health sector.
Among those in attendance were the Acting Primary Healthcare Director, Sadiya Muhammad, the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Primary Health Care, Babangida Lawal Roni, as well as the Jhpiego State Team Lead, Farook Muhammad Awwal.
The meeting also attracted Primary Healthcare Managers and Quality Improvement Focal Persons from all 27 local government areas of the state, reflecting a shared commitment to improving healthcare delivery at both the state and grassroots levels.
Participants reviewed progress on previously agreed action plans, assessed ongoing quality improvement interventions and discussed emerging challenges affecting primary healthcare services across the state.
Presentations on key thematic areas were followed by interactive discussions, allowing participants to exchange experiences, share successful practices from their respective local government areas and develop practical, evidence-based strategies to strengthen healthcare service delivery.
At the end of the meeting, participants reaffirmed their commitment to promoting collaboration, accountability, innovation and evidence-based decision-making to improve health outcomes for residents of Jigawa State.
