The Waiya Foundation, an educational support organization founded by the Kano State Commissioner for Information and Internal Affairs, Comrade Ibrahim Abdullahi Waiya, has provided educational support to 250 underprivileged students and pupils in Dala Local Government Area.

Speaking during the presentation ceremony held at Dala Primary School, Comrade Waiya said the initiative aims to bridge the educational gap and promote academic excellence among students and pupils in the area.

He emphasized that the gesture also complements the ongoing efforts of Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf’s administration to transform the education sector and ensure equal learning opportunities for all children in Kano State.
“We believe that every child deserves access to quality education, regardless of their background or financial situation. At Waiya Foundation, we are committed to empowering underprivileged students and promoting academic excellence,”
said Comrade Waiya.
He added that while the current phase covers 250 beneficiaries, the Foundation plans to expand its reach across all communities in Dala Local Government to accommodate more students in the near future.

“Though the support may seem modest, we believe it will have a meaningful impact on the lives of the beneficiaries—motivating them to excel academically and boosting their confidence,” he stated.
In his remarks, the Vice Chairman of the Foundation, Malam Sadiqu Usman, explained that the organization was established to assist underprivileged students and pupils from Dala Local Government in pursuing their educational dreams.
The support package includes cash donations of ₦25,000 each to three tertiary institution students from each of the twelve wards in Dala, as well as school uniforms and learning materials for 250 pupils, including out-of-school children who have now been enrolled in primary schools.
Some of the beneficiaries who spoke during the event expressed gratitude to the Commissioner and the Foundation for the intervention, pledging to make the most of the opportunity to improve their academic performance.
