The Vice-Chancellor of Khalifa Isyaku Rabiu University, Kano (KHAIRUN), Prof. Abdulrashid Garba, on Monday, June 1, 2026, led a delegation of principal officers and management staff on a courtesy visit to Skyline University Nigeria, Kano, in a move aimed at strengthening institutional cooperation and academic partnership.
The delegation was warmly received by the Vice-Chancellor of Skyline University Nigeria, Prof. Ajith Kumar V.V., alongside members of the university’s management team.
In his welcome address, Prof. Kumar expressed appreciation for the visit, noting that such engagements reinforce collaboration among higher institutions. He also provided an overview of Skyline University Nigeria, highlighting its commitment to academic excellence, innovation, and community development.
He emphasized the importance of inter-university partnerships in advancing higher education and proposed collaboration in key areas including research, teaching, academic resource sharing, staff development, and community service. He further suggested the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to formalize the proposed partnership.
In his remarks, Prof. Garba expressed gratitude for the warm reception and commended Skyline University Nigeria for its role as a pioneer private institution in Kano State. He described the university as a model that has contributed significantly to shaping private tertiary education in the state.
He noted that KHAIRUN looks forward to benefiting from Skyline University’s experience and best practices, particularly in institutional development, academic excellence, and innovation-driven education.
Prof. Garba also presented an overview of KHAIRUN’s progress, achievements, and long-term vision, reaffirming the university’s commitment to building strategic partnerships that will enhance teaching quality, research output, and societal impact.
A key outcome of the visit was the inauguration of a joint committee comprising representatives from both institutions. The committee is tasked with developing a framework for the proposed Memorandum of Understanding and identifying priority areas of collaboration.
Both institutions also held discussions on strategies to improve the quality of education in Kano State and beyond, reaffirming their shared commitment to advancing higher education, promoting innovation, and contributing to national development.
