Aminu Kano Teaching Hospital AKTH has performed its first laser surgery after the Tertiary education trust fund (Tetfund) intervention. The surgery which took place shortly after a three-day workshop on Urology and kidney transplant was attended by doctors from 7 northern universities was the first of its kind. The Aminu Magashi Garba (AMG) Foundation has fulfilled its promise to empower 50 women in Kano State through a skills acquisition training program. The initiative, in collaboration with Women Partners for Progress (WPP), aims to equip women with the necessary tools to start their own businesses. A 37-year-old resident of Kano who recites Quran at Tsangayar Malam Sani, Haruna Adamu has returned lost phones worth over 2.5 million Naira at Masjidurrahma Mosque in Kano.
