Seven pupils of Malam Dan-umma Quranic School at  Bayan Science, Badariya area, in Birnin Kebbi local government area of Kebbi State have been confirmed dead following tragedy while digging sand from a borrow pit. The Kano State Hisbah Board says it has arrested at least 14 persons including a woman over alleged Betnaija sports betting in Badawa area of the state. The command made the arrests under a new operation tagged “Operation Happy Sallah”, where they raided betting shops in different locations across the state metropolis. The Hisbah board, in justifying the arrests, said there is a law prohibiting betting and gambling, just like there is a law prohibiting sales and consumption of alcohol in the state. Kano State Government would work closely with United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) and Republic of Korea to enhance technical and vocational education across the state. The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission EFCC has declared a former governor of Kogi State, Yahaya Bello, wanted for offences relating to economic and financial crimes. The United Nations Children’s Fund UNICEF says boosting routine immunization would eradicate polio and childhood killer diseases in Nigeria. President Bola Tinubu has commended Dangote Oil and Gas Limited for taking a significant step in reducing the price of diesel. A Kano state High Court has granted an ex parte order restraining the National Chairman of All Progressives Congress (APC) Dr Abdullahi Umar Ganduje from parading himself as a member of the party. The National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control, NAFDAC has recalled one lot of Benylin Paediatric Syrup manufactured by Johnson & Johnson, following recent toxicity findings on the product. In a notice to the public on its X handle, NAFDAC said laboratory analysis conducted on the product shows it contains an unacceptable high level of diethylene glycol, which is found to cause acute oral toxicity in laboratory animals.
