The Director General Media and Publicity to the Governor of Kano State, Sunusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, has been honored with the prestigious Most Outstanding Spokesperson Award by the Nigeria Institute of Public Relations (NIPR) in collaboration with the Federal Ministry of Information.
Mr. Dawakin Tofa was selected for this esteemed award in recognition of his instrumental role in promoting not only the positive image of the Kano State Governor and his giant strides but for effectively showcasing the only NNPP ruling state in Nigeria.

The Jury Sub-Committee of the National Spokespersons Awards, established by the NIPR and the ministry, deemed Sunusi as a deserving recipient of the 2024 Spokesperson of the (Executive Arm Category) among the array of spokespersons representing the executive arm of the government in Nigeria which include the Spokespersons the President, Vice President, Ministers and other Extra-ministerial Departments and Agencies.
The award ceremony took place at the International Conference Centre Abuja with eleven categories of various awards after the maiden National Spokespersons Summit 2024 declared open by the Vice President Senator Kashim Shettima.

Mr. Sunusi was described as an unwavering proponent of non-violent communicator, renowned for his extensive network and adept delivery of practices with clarity in objectives, strategic framing of engagements with his audience.
His profound impact and effectiveness in perception and reputation management are highly commendable.
A graduate of Mass Communication from University of Maiduguri, Sabature as he is popularly known is a holder of three masters degrees in various fields of human endeavours from Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, Bayero University and the Robert Kennedy College, Switzerland.

Upon the announcement of Sunusi as the award recipient, a thunderous applause erupted, and attendees rushed to join him on the podium in celebration of his achievement as one of the youngest senior PR experts triumphing from the northern region of the country.
In his acceptance speech, Sunusi showcased his bunch of appreciation to his principal and dedicated this prestigious award to the Governor of Kano State, Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf.
