Residents across communities in Southern Borno State have continued to applaud the member representing Biu, Bayo, Kwaya Kusar and Shani Federal Constituency, Mukhtar Aliyu Betara, for executing projects described as impactful and people-oriented.
In Bayo Local Government Area, the lawmaker constructed a 1,500-capacity stadium aimed at engaging youths and promoting sports development within the area. He also built an office complex and staff quarters for personnel of the Department of State Services to provide a conducive working environment for security operatives.
As part of efforts to strengthen security and improve public service delivery, Hon. Betara also facilitated the construction of modern police stations across the constituency. In the health sector, ambulances were provided to support emergency response services and improve access to urgent medical care for residents.
During a visit to Bayo and Biu, some residents voluntarily guided journalists round various communities to inspect the projects executed by the lawmaker.
Among the projects attracting the highest commendation is the tarring of roads across several streets in Biu, Bayo and Kwaya Kusar, which residents say has significantly improved movement and accessibility within the towns.
The warm reception accorded to Hon. Betara by constituents reflected widespread appreciation for the interventions, with many residents expressing support for his return to the National Assembly unopposed in the 2027 general elections.
Observers say the level of development witnessed in the constituency demonstrates how strategic constituency projects can improve security, infrastructure and living conditions when public office holders prioritise the needs of the people.
